ASE Autogate Ltd

Very disappointed in the outcome of this as we signed up to their service plan hopeful of a lasting relationship. When we moved into the property the gates had an intermittent fault and would occasionally refuse to open. We had ASE service them and upgrade the intercom system. The fault persisted so they diagnosed it as a faulty electrical panel, which took three months to get into stock and replace.

This didn't fix the problem, so the engineer came back and made adjustments. The fault persisted and after a few weeks the gate failed to operate entirely. The engineer came out and diagnosed a completely different fault with the motor and did a temporary repair with the caveat that it's a short term fix. We were immediately sent a breakdown callout invoice.

When I called to discuss what I was paying for and to discuss a permament repair I got a lecture about how they would think I would have called sooner if the fault wasn't new and how the previous parts and repair were a separate issue, etc. The irony is that I didn't call to complain about the invoice, but about it being a temporary fix and I would rather be given an option to have the faulty part replaced and not have to wait for it to fail again.

But the person on the phone was lecturing me about what he would have done if his car had broken down, how he wouldn't have waited weeks if it was a genuine fault, etc. He was making wild assumptions about our situation and how we use our time. It was unpleasant and unprofessional and at no time did I feel like he attempted to hear what I was calling for.

He avoided talking about previous repairs and focused entirely on the weeks it took us to call them as some kind of a trump card proving his point. He also mentioned multiple times how he spoke to my wife who used a different word to describe the fault, which according to him also proved this wasn't the same issue. it was a very strange conversation about nothing. I wish I could give it two separate ratings as the engineers were courteous and pleasant, but as a company they failed, hence the two stars.

I am happy to give ASE Autogate Ltd a 5 star rating for their recent work on repairing our gates which had been severely damaged by Storm Arwen in November 2021. The storm had blown our heavy wooden gates open, pulled some of the brackets completely out of the wall and bent others that had been holding the electrically operated units. Having carried out some short term work myself I contacted ASE.

Their initial engineer visit gave us some hope that the gates could be rescued and the company gave us a quotation to carry out the repairs. This was made more difficult by Storm Malik which rendered my temporary fix useless. But on Thursday 11th February the two engineers from ASE completed an excellent job which has got the gates working better than at any time since we moved in four years ago and has left them stronger than they were before. All the personnel I had contact with were professional and helpful, the quality of work was very good and carried out in line with their quotation.

I recently used ASE for new electric gates at my property. Fantastic service from beginning to end. Very professional service, reasonable quote, kept in touch until the start of the work & then a brilliant job removing the old gates & fitting the new gates. They manufactured the new gates themselves & they are really good quality. The fitting team were all really friendly & pleasant to deal with. Finished on time & couldn't be happier with the new system. Highly recommend Andy & the team at ASE.

One phone call this morning and Simon had a very knowledgeable, and obviously very experienced gate engineer here this afternoon. He solved and corrected the problem with my electric gates and they are working perfectly again. Wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending this company.

Andy and his team at ASE are reliable, professional and very helpful. Andy helped design the gates (Which were in an awkward spot) and talked us through every step of the process. When the gates were manufactured and ready to install they were of a very high quality. The team that came to install them was excellent - they worked incredibly hard in all kinds of weather, were neat and tidy, came when they said they would and provided a thorough explanation of every aspect of the gates.

If you're looking for a professional and reputable company that won't let you down - then ASE are definitely the right company for you. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Critical: Quality Paid over 500 pounds in repair work to my automatic gates. Work was supposed to have been guaranteed for a year but automatic gates stopped working a few weeks after I spent over 400 pounds with the company. Sent a further bill for a callout but same result. We needed a new Intercom and had a few quotes - From the moment I spoke with Simon I knew we would be using ASE Autogate - Above all, they knew exactly what they were talking about and answered every question in detail, with facts and no BS. Today Jason arrived and installed a new Videx Intercom which was installed professionally and all the features explained to me in full. Jason was an absolute professional - Credit to ASE, They will now be our company of choice when we need any work - 6 Stars!

I struggled to find a company to service my gates and provide some new remotes. I called in at the office and spoke to Stuart who was really helpful and accommodating. The work has now been completed and I am very satisfied, will definitely use again
