The need for a well-conceived design and installation within Educational institutions is a must due to their sensitivity. CamAlarms use all our experience to ensure the correct Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, CCTV, Door Access, Refuge, Assisted Toilet and Emergency Lighting systems are installed as protection to the premises - this is of paramount importance to ensure the safety of those inside. All systems fully comply with local authority stipulations and regulations providing peace of mind throughout the design, supply, install and commissioning stages.
Current legislation requires that all occupied buildings include an Emergency Lighting system that provides a minimum light level of one lux along escape routes, to allow a safe exit should mains power fail. CamAlarms has extensive experience in designing and installing Hochiki addressable Emergency Lighting Systems. The FIREscape system is fully expandable and at its core is the addressable EL-2 control panel, up to 49 panels of which can be incorporated into a graphic display. Each panel can accommodate up to two lines of devices, and up to 127 devices can be connected to each line, resulting in a potential system capacity of 12,446 points.
By law, all residential homes and nursing homes must be equipped with a suitable Nurse Call system. The type of Nurse Call system required depends upon the relevant local authority's regulations, and on whether the facility is a residential home or a nursing home. CamAlarms provides expert advice on local authority requirements, and will install conventional alarms, with hard-wired call buttons or pull cords; wireless alarms, which offer all the functions of a wired system but with greater convenience and flexibility; and addressable alarms, which can be tailored provide different day/night or call divert arrangements, as required.
Under current legislation, Induction Loop Systems must be installed in all new and substantially renovated non-domestic buildings, all workplaces, and all care homes. In addition, all organisations offering goods, facilities and services to the general public must make all reasonable adjustments to provide full access for the deaf or hard of hearing. An Induction Loop System (or hearing loop) provides a wireless signal that is picked up by a hearing aid set to the 'T' (Telecoil) setting. The hearing loop consists of a microphone, amplifier, and a loop cable, typically placed under the floor or above the ceiling, which acts as an antenna.
CamAlarms's Intruder Alarm solutions may be installed as part of an integrated system that combines alarms with CCTV monitoring and Access Control. Our installation team has over 25 years' experience of installing Intruder Alarms in a wide range of premises, with minimal disruption.
Since 2004, it has been recommended that all accessible toilets are fitted with an alarm. BS 8300 provides clear specifications for the design and siting of all elements of an Assisted Toilet Alarm to meet the practical needs of disabled users, including the location of the pull cord, the reset button, and the external light or audible alarm, which must be clearly visible to persons providing assistance. The alarm control unit must be located at a supervised reception or a nurse's station, and must indicate where help is required.
Different types of building and different types of fire require specific types of fire extinguisher. CamAlarms provides expert advice on the types of extinguisher required, and on critical installation locations, to ensure that your premises are properly protected and meet all legal requirements.
