ARC fire was formed some fifteen years ago by the current directors. Following successive acquasitions by major fire engineering companies it was decided that the time was right to reform the company under our own direct control. The need for fire detection equipment is driven by the necessity to protect both life and property and legislated for under the Fire Precautions(Workplace) Regulations 1997.

Our services include the design, installation and service support of Fire, CCTV, Access control, Intruder alarms, Emergency lights and Nursecall systems. Since the company's formation, we have also become a leading specialist in wireless radio fire alarm solutions.

With a much reduced installation period and minimal disruption to the building, decoration and on site operations, the radio fire system becomes very competitive financially. Many clients have found that following a Fire risk assessment or as part of a refurbishment, the radio fire alarm option is the perfect solution. ARC Fire Safety & Security provide complete assistance from initial survey and design, through installation, staff training and ongoing support. Radio fire systems have now provided a bespoke solution to hundreds of busy commercial and industrial applications and also sensitive operational sites such as schools, heritage or grade 1 & 2 listed properties.

The Abbotts Hospital in Guildford is a Grade 1 listed Jacobean premises built in 1619ad. It had very specific Fire Risk Assessment requirements which also needed to be approved by 'Historic England'. With over 120 years of history, this 6th form college campus, including boarding houses, classrooms, administrative buildings, sports facilities and theatre has very many different fire and security requirements. The university facilities contractor was looking to replace the existing supplier, and move forward with a company who could provide the technical expertise and resource to manage a site this large.

Addressable fire alarm systems are generally used in all but the smallest applications, as each device reports its specific location to the panel, allowing the user to pinpoint the exact location of an alarm activation. With so many product and system options available in todays market, it is essential that an in depth understanding of the client's business risks and operation are fully understood before a design proposal is submitted.
